Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are tooth-shaped caps placed over a tooth (that has been badly damaged or decayed) to cover it and restore it's shape and size. When cemented in place, the crown will fully encase the visible portion of the tooth that is above the gum level. Crowns may be made from several materials, gold and porcelain are the most common.

Bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap (referred to as abutment teeth) and a false tooth (called a pontic) in between. Dental bridges will:

• Restore your ability to speak properly
• Help maintain the shape of your face
• Prevent other teeth from moving out of position
• Help maintain bite and ability to chew properly

Veneers

There is no reason to put up with gaps in your teeth, teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. A veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct nature's mistake or the results of an injury and help you have a beautiful smile.

A veneer is a thin piece of porcelain similar in size to a fingernail. Once it is "bonded" onto the tooth, it becomes extremely strong. We will then blend the veneer in with the remaining tooth structure so that it is unnoticeable to the naked-eye. Once in place, it looks, feels, and functions just like a regular tooth.

Porcelain veneers are used to change the shape and color of a single tooth or if necessary, revamp an entire smile. Porcelain veneers can also be used to correct teeth that have been worn from clenching and grinding.
